Crucifix: characterized by the "Via" --  the Way, or path that leads to the refuge of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. The Crucifix embodies the words of Our Lady “My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the way that will lead you to God”.  We have chosen to symbolically place the three little shepherds as the first to travel the "Via" and walk on the path so clearly indicated by Our Lady. The top part of the Crucifix takes shape from the actual colonnaded Basilica at Fatima in Portugal. When the Basilica is viewed from the front it actually looks like a cross. This is Fatima -- the shining place of grace -- chosen in God's plan for the Apparitions of Our Lady.

As for the imagery conveyed by The Centerpiece: The Immaculate Heart is opened to represent the passage through which we are called to enter. The thorns represent our difficulties ... but the steady gaze of Our Lady, in profile, watches and promises aid into the safe haven of her Immaculate Heart. The back of The Centerpiece contains the wonderful words of hope Our Lady proclaimed: “In the end, My Immaculate Heart will triumph.”
